Inspired by a book and decided to come up with a list of personal mission statement. Many of which are mentioned in the book and I think they are very much relevant to myself, especially on the area of people management. So much for me to learn and improve on.
Duties of an impatient son, overage student and a blessed fool with so many great friends around him
1. Love your family - Im sure theres pretty much I can improve on in this aspect.
2. Be prepared - Motto I learnt from scouting. A scout is always prepared. Applicable to most aspects of life; be it studies, work or even planning of simple outings or events. Fail to plan, plan to fail. An example of this as I recalled during my OCS days, a warrant officer once took out a 'rubber' in front of the whole cohort and then said 'never leave home without it'. I guess it has the same meaning, be prepared.
3. Be honest - A core value that I very much believed in and will continue to strive to maintain. Honesty is the best policy, though sometimes I get negative responses from someone when I mention that she is fat. Shall not disclose her identity. (Sou Man, thank me)
4. Defend those who are absent - Written off from the book. I think its especially applicable to me especially when Im such a KPO. Always like to listen to friends.
5. Always hear both sides before judging - Made quite a few mistakes before because I violated this point.
6. Be sincere yet decisive
7. Maintain positive attitude
8. Keep a sense of humour - Don't try too hard. Getting lame and out of hand.
9. Be orderly in person and work - Could be improved though Im already quite neat. Hahs, I need to remember point 3.
10. Do not fear mistakes, fear only the absence of corrective response to the mistake
11. Listen twice as much as you speak
12. Execute tasks on hand dutifully (esp in work), no fear nor favouritism
13. Be thankful - Thankful for all the great support from my family, close friends (Ryan, Cand, Janice the ghost and many others from DHS, TJ, Hall 2 and Stansfield), brothers (Thomas and Uncle Bong) and sister (Huisi). Thanks for all the guidance and showing me lots and lots of patience. Though I may not really show that I care, I do. Sometimes just no time to find you all out to catch up. Hahaha, ok recap point 3 again.
14. Time management- Dont ever say no time, its how you manage your time. Recap quote from Uncle Ngor-- Time is our greatest enemy, not money. Ok I just mentioned I got no time in point 13. zz
Thats all for now. I will add more points that I can improve on along this life long learning journey. May I keep all these in mind every moment from today onwards.

Firstly pardon my angmo here. Not very good cos I not speak english alot so language got some prob. Its a blog anyway. I think no one cares. hahaha
Just started to have all these super random thoughts recently. Thought it might be good to write all these down somewhere.
In life we make choices everyday. There are nothing that we have to do or have to follow. We choose to do things or choose to follow rules simply because the consequences of doing something outweighs the consequences of not doing. We choose to go school not because we HAVE to go. (Maybe the case when we are young and immature. But as we grow up, we find that its for our own good)
Commitments are the long run choices we made to ourselves and friends. Keeping our promises and doing our best in things that we promised to do will aid us in building a strong character. It is keeping to the commitments that we made which made us feel good about ourselves, developing a sense of trustworthiness.
Of course I can have lots of commitments and everyone has a different way of weighing it. To me, protecting the country (in terms of reservist haha) has got a higher priority than normal school term but it has got a lower priority against my yearly examinations definitely. Everyone has got different priority for different commitments and it is ok to choose an activity over another as long as you think it is more important. But the reasoning should be: I chose A over B because I think the consequences of not going for A is more serious than not going for B.
Wah liew, I also dont know what I'm writing about. Bo liaoly random.
Just to splurt another random thought: I choose to be happy, doing things that are within my control. No point thinking about stuffs that are not within my control.
Meanwhile, lets enjoy this sad song that I found recently. WOoHoO damn nice. Hear liao dun sad, choose to be happy. Remember, happiness is a choice too, not just a feeling. =) If you dun understand cantonese nor the chinese words, just choose to listen to the music its quite nice. lols
